Phillip "Wooh" Jackson-Benson
Phillip “Wooh” Jackson-Benson, hails from New York, New York, and is truly a New York native son having lived in every borough except Staten Island. Jackson-Benson started boxing as a way to get in shape, having gotten in numerous fights dealing with growing up in New York, he decided to channel his energy into a more organized form of fighting. From this re-dedication has emerged one of the most imposing punchers in the Super Middleweight division. Jackson-Benson achieved acclaim in the amateurs having won the New York State golden gloves twice, and was previously ranked #1 in his weight division. Jackson-Benson, fights now for the same reason many fighters continue to engage in this combative sport in order to make his life better to provide greater opportunities for himself and his family. Why “Wooh?” The name was given to him by his mother at birth, but has evolved into several meanings by those that have seen him fight. After seeing him fight I recognized that I made the exclamation “WOOH!!” after seeing a few of his devastating shots. Always willing to fight, and now under the tutelage of reknowned coach Adrian Davis, Jackson-Benson is definitely one to watch.
